New York City's EJECTA is a duo, one of those classic stories of two musicians in different bands—LEANNE MACOMBER of NEON INDIAN and JOEL FORD of TIGERCITY, FORD & LOPATIN, and AIRBIRD—meeting on tour and becoming "fast friends". It was 2009. Their musical partnership clicked in 2012 when they began sharing their work with each other across time zones. Macomber had mostly worked with ill-tempered four-track machines in bedrooms nationwide, as her FIGHT BITE project had been predominantly a tiny operation she kept alive after a move from Texas to New York. By 2012 Ford knew his way around an actual studio. His résumé includes producing forward-thinking and critically-acclaimed acts such as Autre Ne Veut, Oneohtrix Point Never, and his split namesake, Ford & Lopatin. Ejecta's first singles, "Jeremiah (The Denier)," "Afraid of the Dark,” and "It's Only Love,” have reached hundreds of thousands of ears to critical acclaim from Gorilla vs Bear, Pitchfork, Fact Mag, Stereogum, and many others. The 12" Vinyl LP boasts a beautiful Matte finish with embossed artwork and a 4-color sleeve. The back cover has an embossed track listing in braille.
