THE LONDON JAZZ FOUR
CBS RECORDS 63512 STEREO, 1969
Very rare LP by the london jazz four or L'J IV
as they were known on this LP
"AN ELIZABETHAN SONGBOOK".
Original UK issue on the CBS label no 63512 (stereo) from 1969.The line up is BRIAN MOORE (bass), MIKE McNAUGHT (piano), MIKE TRAVIS (drums), JIM PHILIP (flute). A very interesting album and far rarer than their other LP of Beatles covers on Polydor. Contains the wonderful, deep modal track Orientis, a real undiscovered gem that would fit perfectly on the Gilles Peterson Impressed series of UK jazz comps.
