Notes

Rare and excellent - Testament Records

AllMusic 4.0:  This is a particularly intriguing project, for producer Pete Welding in 1966 gathered together four veteran Chicago blues musicians (three of whom were playing electric blues at the time) and had them re-create the style of a 1920s/'30s string band. Carl Martin (60 at the time) was part of the original era, and he is heard on violin and guitar. Also featured in different combinations are Johnny Young on mandolin, guitarist John Lee Granderson, and John Wrencher on harmonica; all four musicians have their spots taking vocals. The music is very much in the early tradition, and the music is both spirited and delightful.

The scanner tends to over-emphasize ring wear and cover blemishes that are unobtrusive in plain sight.

Record Grading

FineGroove uses eBay's standardized (drop-down) grading scale.  We primarily sight-grade LPs, but we play-grade LPs when we can. We welcome your feedback on our grading, particularly if you are dissatisfied with the LP.

Mint (M): LP is sealed or like-new; Cover is sealed or like-new

Near Mint (NM): LP is visually clean and will play without background sound.  Cover is clean & tight.

Excellent: LP will have superficial lines or sleeve scuffs and the LP may have a little background noise noticeable during quiet sections; Cover may have ring wear and tiny corner dings. EX is our grade for a VINYL & MUSIC LOVER ... some great deals here!

Very Good: LP will play without skipping but has background noise; Cover may have split seams, water and other physical damage - for rare LPs and retro vinyl lovers.
