This is an original pressing of the classic live album "The Allman Brothers Band at The Fillmore East". It was released in 1971 by Capicorn Records, USA # SD2-802. This is an original release, NOT A re-issue. This is a great double album of live music, featuring the great Duane Allman, Dickey Betts, Greg Allman and the rest of the band. I purchased this album "used" in 1973, so it is not up to my usual "near mint" par. I visually grade this double album set as: Very Good Plus. The albums have the original pink Capricorn labels. The label for Side 4 is a bit "bumpy". The classic gatefold album cover is VG+ (to excellent). Two mis-matched generic inner sleeves.
At Fillmore East is the first by American band , and their third release overall. by , the album was released in July 1971 in the United States by . As the title suggests, the recording took place at 's , run by concert promoter . It was recorded over the course of three March nights in 1971 and features the band performing extended, versions of songs such as "" and "." When first commercially released, it was issued as a with just seven songs comprising four vinyl sides.
At Fillmore East was the band's artistic and commercial breakthrough, and is often considered one of the greatest live albums ever recorded. It has also been ranked among the best overall albums by artists and continues to be a top seller in the band's catalogue, becoming their first album to go . In 2004, the album was selected for preservation in the , deemed "are culturally, historically, or aesthetically important" by the .
