Definitions of Vinyl and Sleeve gradings:

VINYLGRADING:

MINT / PERFECT: (M) The condition of the vinyl appears as if it has just been purchased from the manufacturer. There will be no flaws, scuffs, scratches, blotching or stains of any kind and the vinyl will appear as if it had never been handled before.

NEAR MINT: (NM) The vinyl record appears to be virtually perfect although there may be apparent very minor scuffs, but otherwise little else on the record. The record should still play perfectly without any noise from the flaw. The scuffs would be very hard to see by the naked eye.

EXCELLENT: (EX) There may be apparent minor scuffs which would only be slightly visible. There may also be more than a few scuffs but the vinyl should not be affected by these imperfections when played.

VERY GOOD: (VG) The record shows wear and also the appearance of surface scuffs. The record should still play as expected but there may be surface noise from the flaws and these would also be noticable to the naked eye.

AVERAGE: (AV) The vinyl will have the appearance of being played and there will be faint surface scratches and flaws which may affect the performance of the record.

SLEEVE / INNER SLEEVE GRADING:

MINT SLEEVE: (MS) The condition of the sleeve and inner sleeve are perfect with no wear to the cover and no labels (unless they are promotional from the record manufacturer), stickers, writing on the sleeves and the sleeve will have no tears or splits. The age of the record is not reflected in this grading.

NEAR MINT SLEEVE: (NMS) The condition of the cover and inner sleeve look close to perfect with only minor signs of age or wear.

EXCELLENT SLEEVE: (EXS) The artwork and condition of the sleeve is still close to perfect but there may be some slight creasing to corners but no ink wear or wrinkling.

VERY GOOD SLEEVE: (VGS) The sleeve may have the appearance of aging and there may be yellowing of paper inner sleeves but there will not be staining from water damage or blotching. There may be wear and tear to the spine and edges of the sleeves but no rips or tears. There may be minor scratches.

AVERAGE: (AVS) The outer sleeve will have a worn appearance and there will be possible marks, scratches and damage to the sleeves with possible minor tears and wearing to the edges and spine.
