THE FRUITS OF THE “RUST BELT” VINYL DIG ARE HERE!
We started in
Cleveland, Ohio and worked our way west to Chicago, making stops throughout
Ohio, Indiana, and Illinois ~ even stretching out to Western Wisconsin and
Minneapolis. The vinyl gods rained down
soul and funk in the CLE, while Toledo provided black indie funky folk, coffee-shop femme acoustic psych, and lo-fi lounge with one hell of a drummer.
Further west yielded Detroit spill-over
Northern soul seven-inchers, gritty Chicago funk, and deep-root black
Baptist gospel with funky disco undertones.
You won’t find these anywhere else. All offerings from this trip are indicated
with “RUST BELT” in the title.
Be sure to check back regularly, as our newest geographical exploits uncover the best in obscurities and rarities, and just plain interesting vinyl.
IN ADDITION TO THIS SPECIAL RUST BELT SERIES, WE WILL BE LISTING DOZENS MORE ALBUMS & 7” THIS WEEK FROM THIS DIG, FROM RARE SEALED TEJANO & OTHER LATIN RARITIES to PRESTIGE DEEP-GROOVE ORIGINALS, TO COLTRANE’S UNMATCHED “A LOVE SUPREME”, SO CHECK BACK DAILY!
