'This Music Got Soul' is one of the earliest works by Mr. Rocksteady aka Hopeton Lewis, some credit it as his debut single. When the song was released in 1966 in the dying days of the Ska era when the beat was slowing indicating that Rocksteady was on the horizon, whilst just a few short months later Hopeton Lewis recorded the flip 'Rock Steady' to praise the new genre. Mastered direct from the original master tape.
