For many the definitive James record, Laid saw release back in 1993, and marked the first of numerous collaborations between the Mancunians and Brian Eno. Inspired perhaps by a tour with Neil Young, the group’s fifth LP was a quieter, subtler proposition than previous efforts - though it did of course spawn the classic title track; the song which brought them to American audiences, and was eventually immortalised through the American Pie franchise.
This reissue is pressed on 180gm vinyl, and features both printed inner sleeves and a code entitling the buyer to a free MP3 download of the album.
