Few great bands can cite EPs among their finest works, but Alice in Chains are an exception.
Released in early 1992, Sap was something of a collaborative effort, with the band joined by likes of Ann Wilson (Heart), Mark Arm (Mudhoney) and Chris Cornell (Soundgarden).
Following two years later, Jar of Flies saw Jerry Cantrell down his electric for an acoustic guitar, for a group of songs completely unlike anything they’d yet produced.
With instruments such as talk-boxes and harmonicas also making an appearance, it’s a leftfield turn fans hold in equal esteem to their full-length albums.
Reissued by Music on Vinyl as a double-LP with an etched side D - your Alice in Chains collection isn’t complete without it.
