After leaving Faces to live on a farm in Wales, Ronnie Lane formed his own band, Slim Chance, named in homage to his perceived opportunity for commercial success.
Fusing British rock, folk and country music, this self-titled effort was the band’s second studio album, and together with a wealth of cover versions contained six originals penned by Lane, his band and his wife, Kate Lambert.
Haunting, profound, and witty, the album, it’s fair to say, did little to exceed his commercial expectations, though it did find a cult audience which will only endure with the release of this vinyl reissue.
