Charting The Boss’s rise from humble beginnings to one of the world’s greatest rock ‘n’ roll stars, each record qualifies as a classic in its own right; collectively forming one of the most remarkable runs in contemporary music history.

Released in 1982, Nebraska was Springsteen’s sixth full-length, and a marked departure from all which had come before.

The archetypal happy accident, its 10 acoustic tracks were originally intended as demos for what would become Born in the U.S.A., but became an LP in their own right when the songwriter recognised their quality.

Desolate and uncompromising, the album was touted at the time as a case of commercial suicide, but nevertheless performed well around the globe.

More pertinently, it’s one many fans rank among his finest, with Rolling Stone even listing it at #224 in their 500 greatest albums of all time.
