Seminal post-hardcore act At The Drive-In was born in the summer of '94, formed from the ashes of two of El Paso, Texas' most popular underground bands. The band went on to become one of the most influential rock acts of the 90's. The band's first 7" EP Hell Paso was released in November of '94 through the band's own label. The following month, the band trekked 2,000 miles across the great state of Texas on their very first tour and never looked back.
At The Drive-In released albums Acrobatic Tenement (1996), In/Casino/Out (1998), and the seminal Relationship of Command (2000). ATDI's tours and live shows were nothing short of explosive, emotion-soaked performances, and the band gained a reputation for their blend of surrealistic lyrics, unorthodox guitar melodies and unpredictable shifts in tempo and rhythm.
In March of 2001, at the peak of their popularity and following a world tour, At The Drive-In went on "indefinite hiatus." Cedric Bixler-Zavala and Omar Rodriguez-Lopez went on to create progressive rock band The Mars Volta, while the other members - Jim Ward, Paul Hinojos, and Tony Hajjar - formed rock group Sparta. In 2012, At The Drive-In  reunited and played the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival, as well as the Lollapalooza Festival.
Relationship Of Command is considered to be by many, the 'seminal' album of the post-punk era. This is an album that changed the course of music history, and if you ask most musicians, they'd point to Relationship Of Command as a game changer in their musical upbringing. At The Drive-In set the template for ferocious underground statements and through their incendiary live performances, the group proved that "a single spark can start a spectral fire."
Of these reissues, guitarist and founding member Jim Ward said: "It was interesting to revisit the recordings that bookended the first chapters of our band. The earnest and pure excitement of the beginning and the level of craftsmanship we achieved by Relationship of Command leaves me nothing but proud. I am happy these records have found their way to continue to feel new as people discover music they love and embrace our work."
