Up for auction here is a brand-new, unplayed copy of Bob Dylan and The Band's "The Basement Tape" on 130-gram black vinyl, hand-numbered 823 of a total of 2500 copies.  Next to the number is a stamped autograph from Garth Hudson, brilliant organist from The Band and producer/recordist for these sessions.
This title was a special Record Store Day release in 2015.  Billed as "the original Basement Tape," it represents the British publishers' demonstration record with the original 14 songs as chosen and assembled in 1968 by Bob Dylan and Garth Hudson.  Faithfully restored from the original mono master tapes.  Officially available for the first time in this exclusive limited edition, vinyl-only release.
Please note that Garth Hudson's signature on this comes from an ink stamp, not from his own hand.
Setlist is as follows:
SIDE 1:  1. Million Dollar Bash  2. Yea Heavy & a Bottle O' Bread  3. Please Mrs. Henry  4. Crash on the Levee  5. Low and Behold  6. Tiny Montgomery  7. If Your Memory Serves You Well
SIDE 2:  1. You Ain't Goin' Nowhere  2. Any Day Now (I Shall Be Released)  3. Too Much of Nothing  4. Tears of Rage  5. The Mighty Quinn  6. Open the Door  7. Nothing Was Delivered
This copy has only been removed from its protective sleeve to photograph it for this auction.  It has never been played.
Shipping within the United States will be $6.00 for First Class Mail.  International charges will vary depending on location, but will be the actual cost sent via First Class.
