GENTLE GIANT Acquiring the Taste Vertigo 6360 041 Swirl label with Vertigo Swirl inner. These albums only come up rarely, so I’ve tried to be as honest as possible below, so that bidders are certain about that which they are bidding on, which is a 48 year old album that has been played!

Cover: This would class as Good only. Frankly it’s well worn. It has a price sticker (pictured) and the previous owner’s name written in biro. (pictured) It has sellotape down one edge and is quite dull.

Vinyl: This has been cleaned using my Okki Nokki record cleaning machine. I’d class it as Exc. It’s an original 1971 first pressing according to my Discogs research. (Happy to be corrected though!) Side B has the name “Ruth” written in biro (pictured). The vinyl itself now has a lovely shine to it, though there are visible surface marks on both sides. No deep marks or gouges at all. It’s obviously been looked after, but also played.

Sound: The record has cleaned up really well. It doesn’t jump or stick. There’s no huge pops or clicks that I’ve discerned, but there’s definitely some crackle which comes through on the quiet pieces, but not enough to distort or spoil the record. Played on my own Rega Planar 3/ Elys 2 deck, through Rogers speakers. I’d happily keep it if I didn’t already have a copy.

Insleeve: As far as I can see this is original. It has a small tear, approx 2.5” long, on one side.

General: I bought this as part of a box from someone’s loft. I already have a copy of this album, which is why I’m selling this plus a couple of others. The rest I’ve kept! I’ve been as honest and open as possible about this record, because it’s rare and it’s not “Mint” as some dealers (which I most definitely am not!) describe their discs. Happy to answer any questions or provide further pics if requested.
