Vinyl lp 12" of Jack Nicholson's stoned-out reading of Kipling's JUST SO STORIES, with vocal backing by Bobby McFerrin:
HOW THE RHINOCEROS GOT HIS SKIN / HOW THE CAMEL GOT HIS HUMP, released 1988 on Windham Hill Records (WH-0704). Original printed dust sleeve is included. Vinyl = vg+; clean and glossy, sound is crisp. Cover = vg+; punch-out adjacent to the top of the spine; faint ringwear; NO splitting.
I'm throwing in the Rabbit Ears Productions VHS cassette tape of the Nicholson/McFerrin collaborative telling of Kipling's THE ELEPHANT'S CHILD, with art direction by Tim Raglin. Windham Hill also released an lp of THE ELEPHANT'S CHILD without the visuals, natch. The video tape is play-tested, guaranteed to be clear and crisp.
McFerrin's rich, atmospheric and down-right trippy scores are composed almost exclusively for his singular vocal talents, which replicate the sounds of every exotic and fantastical element in Kipling's etiological tales. Nicholson, of course, sounds like he's trapped in a thick cloud of acrid smoke that tends to render one agreeable and laid-back.
