Hip-Pocket Records are 45rpm flexi-disc records about 5 inches in diameter. They were made in the late 1960's, and were originally designed to be played on an in-dash record player in Ford automobiles. I have also been told they were sold at 7-11 counters. They will, however, play on regular turntables (without automatic return), although they might require some extra weight on the label (like a quarter, for example). Most people collect Hip-Pocket records for the picture sleeves, since the songs are the same as the regularly released versions (as far as I know), but the photos are often unique to the Hip-Pocket releases.
1967 Philco Ford Hip-Pocket Records HP-31.
Condition: Unused warehouse stock. Sleeve is unopened, so disc is unplayed. Small manufacturing color flake on Etta's back, and minor wear on bottom edge. Otherwise pretty - sharp graphics, bright colors, crisp appearance. See photos.
