Background -

This MONO 5x78rpm Disc set features music written by Johannes Brahms and recorded in 1928, released in the early 1930s on the ELECTROLA record label. Performers include Edwin Fischer, Vittorio Brero, Rudolf Nel and Theo Schurgers. Comes with the original Germany Electrola labels with 5x12" 78rpm records in a binding (like you would find with a large book). The shellac was made in GERMANY and is in very nice condition given it's age (see below for details).
Apparently this set has sold for over $200.00 USD in the past, without the binding that houses the discs. Our set has the binding. We are offering this at auction, with NO reserve, so if you collect 78rpm sets, get your bids in early so you don't miss out.  Records made by ELECTROLA, in GERMANY
Records recorded in 1928, released in the early 1930s
Records are recorded in MONO Record Catalog Number: Electrola Album No. 265 - D.B. 5532-5536 Record Labels are primarily red with gold lettering, with the ELECTROLA records logo - with Red / Gold Grooved Label, Gold Square.

Johannes Brahms

5x78rpm Set / Title -

Piano Quartet in G minor, Op. 25 (Complete)

Performers -

Edwin Fischer, piano
Vittorio Brero, violin
Rudolf Nel, viola
Theo Schurgers, cello

CONDITION Details: The 5x12" 78rpm set is in very good overall condition! We are not able to play it as we don't have a 78rpm player. The binding has seen better days and has shelf wear. One of the inner sleeves has come off the inside spine. It's pretty rare to even find one of these sets with the actual binding (see pictures with this listing as they are of the actual item). The 5 discs are in very good overall condition. We found that the vinyl looked very good on this vintage set. We can't comment on how it plays as we don't have a 78rpm player. There are some marks and the discs, nothing serious. They do have a bit of dust and perhaps a finger print or two on them so they should be cleaned before playing. There are NO serious spindle marks on the record labels. Acquiring a vintage 78rpm set like this is for the performance and rarity of the set, not necessarily for the sound quality. A Short Note About LP GRADING - Mint {M} = Only used for sealed items. Near Mint {NM} = Virtually flawless in every way. Near Mint Minus {NM-} = Item has some minor imperfections, some audible. Excellent {EXC} = Item obviously played and enjoyed with some noise. Very Good Plus {VG+} = Many more imperfections which are noticeable and obtrusive.

For best results, always properly clean your LPs before playing them.

The LP is an audiophile quality pressing (any collector of fine MFSL, half speeds, direct to discs, Japanese/UK pressings etc., can attest to the difference a quality pressing can make to an audio system).

Do not let this rarity slip by!
