also has the `THANKYOU` Mistype with no space also on label very early
hand etched copy with 588198A and 588198B etched on runout

Please note that this album is complete and original 1st UK pressing and is priced for its rarety and attraction for collection purposes, the record and sleeve are original and 50 years old

Led zeppelin II recorded on their "mayhem tours" in USA in 1969, this is very much the sound of a band at work and finding their direction.
The classic tracks are here by the bucketful, Whole Lotta Love, Lemon Song, Heartbreaker all jump off the grooves with incredible clarity.
Page got what he wanted here soundwise and the mixing done at various locations dictated by tour schedule are a credit to the producer.
This recording really put Zeppelin on the map and Atlantic had to give the highest advance to make sure Peter Grants Boys didn't look elsewhere, one of the greatest acts in rock history were in business to stay for a long time to come.

Litigation copy !

Only the first presses came out with "Lemon Song" On the label, this was hastily retitled on Peter Grants orders on later presses for fear of impending litagation from the estate of "blind lemon jefferson"
Grab yourself a piece of rock history!

These are getting harder to find in anything like this condition, also Plant gets songwriting credits for the first time as he is considered "permanent" following US reaction to the 12 month old line up.

Vinyl is "Near Excellent" Condition

Please note that this album is complete and original 1st UK pressing and is sold for its rarety rather than for its condition

In Near Excellent with light lines (see photos) and some minor scuffs and scrapes from sleeve removal over the years, bear in mind this is a 50 year old vinyl record! Nice fat pre oil crisis 60s vinyl wow ! truly a collectors dream...at this price!
Great highs and lows great audio.
At the start of side 2 there are slight "clicks" which are audible before jimmy Page hits the first note in track 1 "Heartbreaker" after music starts all clear throughout. cant stress its not perfect but a great playthrough with no issues and great audio from this 1969 first  `COPYRIGHT CONTROL``press.

No skips or sticks or jumps , we playtested on our super fussy Kenwood light tracking deck as well as the Rega all clear and  sounding very good.

No jumps or sticks on our Rega 3 a professional clean may assist (we don't do this as its an individual thing) there is some static in quieter places but not many of those..

Plays fantastic with bright crisp sound may benefit from a professional clean (we don't do this as it's an individual thing) some background static is noticeable in the quieter passages but not many of those!

The labels are "good condition" are clean bright and free of writing doodles or stickers and retain great bold colours.

has its `Plastic Bags Can Be Dangerous ` inner sleeve its yellowed with its age and a new qulaity PVC lined inner is supllied.

See pictures in the listing you can see the light surface lines on the record.

Nice Thick fat 70s pre oil crisis vinyl very flat on the table.

The sleeve
Very Good Condition plus

The lighter Brown 1st version

Having done it's job over 50 years the sleeve has some ring wear and rounding corners but no rips or tears on the "EJ Day" London W1 sleeve with the "uptight and Outasight" Atlantic appreciation society (17-19 Stratford Place, London, W1)  message (not on later versions) (see photos) VGC plus

No splits or tears, colours are good and not a lot fading, the thick card holds up well, no writing , names or stickers.

Having done it's job over 50 years the sleeve has some ring wear (see photos rear cover)  and general removal and use wear.
there is the usual finger removal soiling to the white parts ofthis sleeve (see pictures in the listing) but light nothing drastic. this has a great spine totally readable and no heavy wear. some historic damage to rear only possible an old name sticker removed ?... long long ago is the only blemish to a great cover.its not serious and does not lessen too much what is a sound 47 year old original thick card "light brown" bomber cover.

Kept in a PVC sleeve for many years vertical in storage. The spine is readable and in good order.
The corners are a little rounded.

No splits or tears, colours are good and clear only wear from use over the years to the sleeve , the thick card holds up well, no writing , names or stickers. the rear cover shows some ringwear see photos, the rest of the cover is looking in good order.

on the whole a good sleeve VGC plus and a great collectable " Nr Excellent" rare 1st UK press 1969 vinyl.

This is a great copy for someone looking for a wholly original 1st press of this great album. not if the buyer wants a "Mint" " or a reissue this is a "used 50 year old vinyl record and sleeve"

"Nr Mint" and some "Excellent" advertised copies are almost impossible now £250+ and the rarer "livin lovin wreck copies" £500+ (see my other listings)

This is a great lemon song on label copyright control hand etched pressing these were only produced in Red Plum with "Lemon Song" on the label for the first few months of release...a bargain "Nr Ex" vinyl at £160.

on later copies "Killin Floor" was substituted for "Lemon Song " and a darker brown outer cover was used.. the early 1 st presses are now getting hard to find in reasonable condition as they were "played"
