I use the following grading system:

NM Near Mint - the vinyl looks in immaculate condition with no signs of having been played and the sleeve looks almost as new with crisp edges and no wear or tear or fading of colours.

EX+ Excellent - The vinyl is in excellent condition with only a couple of hairlines or one or two surface marks. As with nearly all vinyl there could be the odd random tick. The cover might have very minor wear and tear or the odd tiny scuff or stain.

EX Excellent - as EX+ but with a few hairlines. Slightly more scuffing on the sleeve, but still very minor.

EX- As EX but slightly worse.

VG+ Very Good Plus - Vinyl will show more signs of play and include some surface marks and lines. Sleeve will have some wear and tear like light scuffs, slight ringwear or discolouration.

VG Very Good - As VG+ but with more marks/lines. Sleeve will have slightly more wear and tear etc, slight discolouration, maybe even a small, light biro mark or a deletion cut or hole.
