This listing is for a rare and pretty early Ska 45 'Beautiful Girl' by Ernie Faulkner on the pretty scarce and obscure Sway label. First Pressing SW 003.
I haven't come across this label very often. I think it errs on the side of jazz and this single certainly sways (excuse the pun) towards the jazz side of Ska.
You can clearly hear those American R&B influences in these early Ska tracks.
Great dance track!
No youtube link or sound file but i will add one if requested. It takes ages to download to youtube and link across (especially for a Luddite like myself)
A side - Ernie Faulkner - Beautiful Girl B side - Sam Daniels & The Planets - Tell Me Baby
Barcode and Other Identifiers Matrix / Runout (A Side Runout): SW-003-A Matrix / Runout (B Side Runout): SW-003-B
I am grading the record as VG. It has quite a few light paper scratches but nothing major. Some spindle marks AND THE NAME MARK in pen on side A. (Please see images)
A nice copy and i'm starting it at £10.00 with no reserve.
Both sides play well with the typical crackle and hiss but a very clean sound.
Much of this old reggae/rocksteady was played to death at parties when it came out and copies were often ruined. This has survived in pretty good shape and hopefully will be played and appreciated for years to come.
A rare and collectable record.
The record will be packed safely & securely and sent by trackable mail.
No reserve on this item but i'm starting the bidding at £1.00.
Please bid with absolute confidence, there's 100% money back guarantee on this item.
Feel free to email me any questions you may have.
Lots of early Reggae and Northern Soul to list so check out my listings over the next few weeks.
Combined postage of course.
