any questions are welcome on this
quality Excellent vinyl `Vault stored`A1B1 vinyl copy has the rare *recessed ring* on labels, only the earliest copies have this..
Please note that this album is complete and original 1st Track Records UK pressing on the black label and is priced for its rarity and attraction to collectors and for its condition, it is 53 years old ! Ex copy
the sound quality of these rare first presses wipes the floor in our view with the new reissues but over to the listener....
A1 B1 1967 original Ex the vinyl
This has a different track listing to the US version and is now extremely hard to find in good order only some 100,000 were sold on the UK track label
these are increasing in value and getting harder and harder to find
compared to 5,000,000 in the US!
To explain you can limit this further as "Stereo" was being launched as a format in 66 and 67 and later re presses were released in Stereo only..so how many Mono A1 B1 are left? how many are in good order?
the original Mono pressing have "that sound" for us, the US versions are generally poorer quality presses in our experience, its possible that less than a few thousand Track Mono pressings still exist in playable order now 53 years later...this is A1 B1 so the very very first of the presses available to the public of Jimis blistering Debut...recorded in London and released in London 1967 first on the iconic "UK Black Track label"
Please ask Questions on any aspect of this record!
we will try to accommodate...
Jimi Hendrixs amazing and historic debut album recorded in swinging London 1966/7...Jimi was having a ball being in the centre of the London scene and was blowing away all the competition.
This was recorded October 66 to April 67 in Olympic and De Lane Lea studios in London this was followed up quickly by "Axis Bold As Love" in the same year as Jimi was required to produce 2 albums for Track in that year, Jimi was playing and recording in London almost every day so this was no problem for the experience.
The classics are here and super fresh sound on this great audio copy, Foxy Lady opens and there is no let up like his live shows in London at the time the "100 club" "bag o nails" and the Marquee all were the testing grounds for this amazing debut form the all too short career of Jimi Hendrix
Red House was a staple blues in his live set for most of Jims career Fire, Are you Experienced? all are here...recorded for Mono and in glorious Mono here on this original 1st Press from 1967.
Look our other Hendrix items for sale we have a MONO smash hits also on offer they make a great pair!
essentially this was Jimis live set on record at the time " a real time capsule"
Photos of Jimis Mayfair London England residence are not included , it is where some of the songs were written though! also the Royal Mail postbox outside Jimis home is where he posted his postcards home to his Dad Al about his success in London 66 and 67.....
This is an " Excellent condition " vinyl copy
There are some light surface lines, small scuffs and light removal marks under strong light, this is a rare find on the original UK track record label from 1967
Zero skips or jumps on playback. Has super rare *recessed ring* on labels ! Only the earliest copies had this .....
The original UK mono copies from 1967 are now so hard to find in this condition you can often see £300+ is not unusual , here for under £250 is a bargain....
The record is Excellent condition awesome audio performance
Cover is VGC plus the corners and spine have storage wear from its 50 year journey
Ex the vinyl first press labels see photos
This is a mono copy and sounds awesome and easily our favorite over the later mix stereo copies.
A1 B1 matrixes
This is in Excellent shape no writing or stickers on labels and a few spindle lines there are some surface lines and removal marks under strong light this is 53 year old vinyl no skips or jumps on our Rega 3 or our super fussy light tracking Kenwood deck.
We play tested this on two different decks our Rega 3 also on our super fussy Kenwood deck with very light tracking and there are no skips or jumps
We want to be very clear this is not a "mint or near mint" 53 year old copy, it has been played and should continue to be played and enjoyed as a great vinyl to own.
In awesome Ex condition with some surface lines, light scuffs from sleeve removal and general light hairlines, over the years, bear in mind this is a 53 year old vinyl record! Nice fat pre oil crisis 60s vinyl wow ! sound fantastic loud...stored in the vault for 30 plus years...
So thick and fat vinyl...
See pictures in the listing you can see the light surface lines on the record, nothing serious and in keeping with its 53 years life.
There is some slight static in quieter passages and intros, but this is not obtrusive to the playback.
Plays clear with bright crisp sound may benefit from a professional clean (we don't do this as it's an individual thing) some background static is noticeable in the quieter passages but not many of those here! Foxy ! Manic Depression, Fire are all incredible on any good deck, wipes the floor with the recent reissues no contest, punchy clear bass and drums. just the greatest mix in MONO.
very good plus condition
Been kept in a PVC sleeve for most of its life in great shape from a smoke free home.
Bright vibrant colour , the spine is showing some wear (see photos in listing) no tape or repairs , some creasing to front see photos
Colours good and bright on the front laminated side are in real great order there is light laminate creasing (see photos in listing) but bearing in mind its 53 year journey all good. cover is solid spine no splits or tears or tape repairs!
Having done it's job over 53 years the sleeve has some light soiling/creasing removal wear on entry/exit side and not a lot of ringwear (see photos) slight ribbing and storage removal wear
cover cover good plus no writing a cover with 53 years old.
original `Made in Great Britain` inner sleeve is enclosed record is supplied in a quality new PVC lined inner.
No splits or tears, colours are good and not a lot fading, the thick card holds up well, no stickers or tape on the sleeve, this is a keeper for any Hendrix fan wanting a Clean Ex vinyl original MONO 67 1st UK Pressing.
on the whole a decent clean vgc + sleeve and a very very collectable
This is great heavy flat vinyl and has deep lustre wow!
This is a great affordable upgrade and a keeper!
