Webster Young FOR LADY / Prestige 7106 NYC label. The tune “Strange Fruit” has a mark on it that covers about 35% of that track. That mark is slightly recessed and is audible. It may have been inherent from the pressing at the factory. The scan shows this mark clearly. Other than this issue, the LP can be visually graded around VG to VG+ as it has some light surface marks and a few light scratches. But due to the mark on “Strange Fruit”, the best I can give as a visual grade would be VG. Audio wise, there is some steady light background noise throughout with occasional clicks. The exception to this would be “Moanin’ Low” which tracks quite cleanly. And on “Strange Fruit”, the section with the mark registers as a loud repetitive click and makes that track unlistenable. The labels are quite clean (please see scans). The jacket is in decent VG+ condition. 3 of the 4 corners are slightly soft, but there are no splits. The front cover is in very presentable condition, but the rear shows more wear. There is a small bit of tape on the lower left and a very tiny piece on the lower right. The jacket has a very readable spine. Please judge the jacket for yourself by reviewing the scans. I do not use excellent (EX) as a grade. I use NM / VG++ / VG+ / VG / VG-.
