The Rolling Stones 2 LP Lot England’s Newest Hit Makers & 12 x 5 VG
For auction is a lot of 2 LPs by one of the the best selling music artists of all time, The Rolling Stone’s. Both are in VG condition and would be a fine addition to any collection. Please see pics and let me know if you have any questions or if you would like to see more photos. Below are details on the 2 records in this lot:
England’s Newest Hit Makers The bands 1st US album released in April 1964. In the UK it was self titled and had one song that was different. It Includes only three original compositions. One written by Jagger & Richards and two by Nanker Phelge which was a pseudonym for a band collaboration. The other songs were all covers of early rock or blues standards. This copy is a 1966 mono Allentown repress with London red labels. Vinyl is play graded VG. There are many visible surface marks but nothing deep that can be felt. Plays with faintest of background noise if any and never overwhelming. No skips or jumps. Plays better than it looks. Cover is in VG- condition. Many signs of shelf wear consisting of scuffs and creases. Shelf wear on corners and seams. Title side is taped but is still legible. No other splits. Ring wear on front and back. Stains on back as well as pencil writing on top right corner. Holds up well and protects vinyl. A very good listeners copy.
12 x 5 Released in October of 1964, The Rolling Stone’s second US album is an expanded EP that was released in the UK titled 5 x 5. It contains the same 5 tracks plus 7 more. Similarly to England’s Newest Hit Makers, 12 x 5 also contains covers but the writing team of Jagger and Richards composed three songs while the band as a whole (Nanker Phelge) contributed two. However, a cover of the Bobby Womack song, “It’s All Over Now”, gave the band their first UK #1. Also features, the first version of two they recorded of “Time Is On My Side”. This copy is a 1965 mono repress. Vinyl is play graded VG. Many visible surface marks but nothing deep that can be felt. Plays with faintest of background noise but never overwhelming. No skips or jumps. Cover is in VG- condition. Many signs of shelf wear such as creases and scuffs. Shelf wear on corners and seams but no splits. Title is mostly legible. Ring wear on front and back and stains on back. A very good listeners copy.
Good luck bidding and thank you for looking!
