PINK FLOYD - THE PIPER AT THE GATES OF DAWN - SECOND PRESSING - COLUMBIA LP SX 6157 COVER SLEEVE: Laminated front with some creasing, wear to corners and edges, the reverse side is grubby with 6 areas of surface print damage, see images. Has 2nd pressing "File under POPULAR : Pop Groups". INNER SLEEVE:  Original company printed inner sleeve bag advertising other EMI group albums. RECORD: SIDE 1:  There are some hairline surface scratches and scuff marks, all superficial and not detectable by touch except for a few light clicks at run-in but not heard within the body of the track, no surface heard between tracks or elsewhere. The label is clean. Matrix # XAX 3419 - 2.  Sound output is crisp and clear with excellent definition. Due to markings I would conservatively grade this side as VG. RECORD: SIDE 2:  There also hairline surface scratches but in addition at some point this side was handled inappropriately and as a consequence there are surface marks (look like finger marks) where the natural vinyl gloss is no longer in evidence. Small parts of these area may also have scuffing to the vinyl, which although not detectable by touch may affect the sound output in a small way, see below. The label is clean. Matrix # XAX 3419 - 1.  Sound output is crisp and clear with excellent definition but for periods within tracks 4 and 5 a light repetitive surface noise can be detected, elsewhere there is no noise between tracks or heard throughout the rest of the tracks. The markings therefore grade this side at G. All tracks have been checked and played in full and at suitable loud volume using a Citronic Pro PD-1s MK2 direct drive turntable, QSC GX3 power amplifier and Sonus Faber speakers.
