Cream 3 1st Press LP Lot Fresh Cream, Disraeli Gears, Goodbye w/poster G+/VG-/VG.

For auction is a lot of 3 great LPs by Rock & Roll Hall of Famers, Cream. The British band is considered to be the worlds first supergroup consisting of Eric Clapton on guitar, Jack Bruce on bass and Ginger Baker on drums. All three had earned great success in previous bands and were considered elite performers in Europe, especially in Great Britain. The bands name stems from that idea, they were all the “cream of the crop” of their respective instruments. Ironically, tensions built among them because of creative differences and they only existed for two years. From 1966 to 1968 they recorded 4 albums. Three being represented here. They range in condition G+ to VG and would all be fine additions to any collection. Please see pics and let me know if you have any questions or if you would like to see more photos. Below are details on the 3 records in this lot:

Fresh Cream Their debut released in the US in January 1967. Features the classics, “I Feel Free”, “I’m So Glad” and “Toad”. The latter is an instrumental that includes a Ginger Baker drum solo, one of the first in rock music history. Many critics view the album as an introduction into the genre of jam rock. This copy is a 1st stereo pressing from Terre Haute with Atco brown, purple and white labels. Vinyl is play graded G+. There are many visible surface marks and hairlines some deeper than others. A couple can be felt on side 1 track 3 and another on side 2 track 3. Plays with consistent background noise of static and the occasional crackles and pops that is never too overwhelming but definitely apparent. Does play through with no skips or jumps. Cover is in VG- condition. Noticeable shelf wear on corners and seams. Inch split on bottom from open edge. Title is legible. Ring wear and fading on both sides. Initials written with pen and stains on back. Original Atco inner is included but generic white is used to protect vinyl. An ok listeners copy but probably more suitable as a collection filler.

Disraeli Gears Their second album released in November 1967 propelled the trio to international fame. The album reached the top 10 in many countries, peaking at the top in Australia, Finland and Sweden. In the UK it reached #5 and #4 in the US. It features the rock classics, “Strange Brew” and “Sunshine of Your Love” as well as “Tales of Brave Ulysses” and “Blue Condition” composed by Baker. Considered by many critics as one of the best records of all time, the album was inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame in 1999. In 2020 it was rated #170 on Rolling Stone’s list of “500 Greatest Albums of All Time”. This copy is a 1st stereo pressing. Vinyl is play graded VG-. Some light surface marks but nothing deep. Plays with mild background noise at times but not too overwhelming. Cover is in VG condition. Shelf wear on corners and seams but no splits although one is starting on bottom right side. Title is legible. Light ring wear on back. Original Atco inner is included but generic white is used. A good listeners copy of a classic!

Goodbye The bands fourth and final album released in February 1969, three months after the band broke up in November 1968. The album features 3 songs recorded live at The Forum in LA in mid October and 3 songs recorded in the studio the same month. It peaked at #2 on the Billboard 200. This copy is a 1st Monarch Press on Atco yellow labels. Vinyl is play graded VG. Many visible surface marks one very apparent across side 2 that does not affect playback. Plays with mild background noise at times that is never too overwhelming. Gatefold cover is also in VG condition. Obvious shelf wear on corners and seams but no splits. Title is legible. Ring wear and scuffing on both sides. Original Atco inner is included but generic white is used. Big folded poster included and in VG+ condition. A very good listeners copy!

Good luck bidding and thank you for looking!
