In 1987, after starring in the theatrical bomb, "Who's That Girl", Madonna released her fourth album entitled, YOU CAN DANCE. This album is actually Madonna's first remix album, featuring seven of her tunes (three from MADONNA, one from LIKE A VIRGIN, one from "Desperately Seeking Susan", one from TRUE BLUE, and one new song), released from her first three albums, appearing in an Extended 12" Mix format. These mixes are just what the dance clubs need and just what club goers need.
"SPOTLIGHT" New song. The album's first & only single. This song, which is a non-U.S. single (released as a single in Japan and some areas in the U.K. only), was originally recorded for the TRUE BLUE album, but Madonna left off of that album, and decided to include it here. It's a great song, with enough of a groove and beat to hit the dance floor. The lyrics have enough inspiration to make anybody really go for their goals in life.
