Clyde McPhatter & The Drifters Self-Titled 1956 1st Mono Press Black Labels VG-.

For auction is a good listeners copy of Clyde McPhatter & The Drifters, the self titled debut of the American doo-wop/R&B/soul group. It was released in 1956 and is the only album by the group that has McPhatter at the helm. It features the bands early hits such as, “Money Honey”, “Such A Night” and an amazing doo-wop rendition of “White Christmas”. This copy is a 1st mono press with Atlantic black labels.

Vinyl is play graded VG-. Many visible surface marks but nothing deep that can be felt. Plays with consistent mild background noise that is never overwhelming but apparent. No skips or jumps. Please see pics.

Laminated cover is also in VG- condition. Shelf wear on corners and seams. The bottom has an inch split from the open edge as well some peeling in the center of seam. Title side is peeling but has no splits. Small scratches and creases on front. Scuffing and wrinkles on back. Stains and ring wear on both sides. Despite all this, cover still looks good, holds up well and protects vinyl. Please see pics.

Good luck bidding and thank you for looking!!
