It is the first album to feature vocalist Ronnie James Dio, who replaced singer Ozzy Osbourne in 1979. The album was a commercial success especially in the United States, The album peaked at #28 on the US Billboard 200 chart. It was certified Platinum by the RIAA for selling 1 million copies in the United States. The album charted well in the UK peaking at #9.
