He has won 5 Grammy Awards, 2 Oscars and a Tony Award. He was inducted into both the Songwriters Hall of Fame (1992) and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame (1994). These albums are all in VG- or better condition and would be a fine addition to any collection. Please see pics and let me know if you have any questions or if you would like to see more photos. Below are details on the 3 records in this lot:

Elton John His self titled second studio album released in 1970. It features his breakthrough hit, “Your Song”. The album was nominated for the Grammy, Album of the Year and was inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame in 2012. Also includes the now popular, “Take Me To the Pilot” and “Border Song” which both get frequent radio play on classic rock stations. This copy is a 1973 reissue on black MCA labels with rainbow. Vinyl is play graded VG-. Some visible surface marks but nothing deep that can be felt. Plays with mild background noise at times that is never overwhelming. On side 2 it is a little more apparent but neither side has any skips or jumps. Gatefold cover is also in VG- condition. There is considerable shelf wear on corners and seams. The top seam has a 5 inch piece of tape from the open edge over a split. There is also a split on bottom seam that is an inch long from open edge. Corners are dented. Title side is peeling but is legible. Ring wear, creases, fading and scuffing on both sides. Stains on inside of gatefold. Despite all this, it still holds up well and protects vinyl. A good listeners copy of great album!

Goodbye Yellow Brick Road His seventh studio album released as a double LP in October 1973. It is considered by many critics to be his masterpiece and is his most successful album ever recorded. It debuted at #17 on the Billboard 200 and only took four weeks to peak at #1 where it stayed for eight consecutive weeks. It went on to become the #1 record of 1974. It spawned an array of classics such as, “Candle In The Wind”, “Bennie And The Jets”, “Saturday Night’s Alright For Fighting”, “Harmony”, “Funeral For A Friend/Love Lies Bleeding” and the title track. The records popularity has continued to grow globally and has sold more than 30 million copies worldwide, and over 8 million in the US alone. It was inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame in 2003 and in 2020 was ranked #112 on Rolling Stone’s list of “500 Greatest Albums of All Time”. This copy is a 1st Pinckneyville Press. Vinyl is play graded VG-. Both records have many visible surface marks but nothing deep that can be felt. Both play with consistent mild background noise and the occasional pop that is never overwhelming. Neither record plays with any skips or jumps and it is still an enjoyable listen. Tri-fold cover is in VG condition. Shelf wear on corners and seams but no splits. Title is fully legible. Some stains inside tri-fold and a slight warp in the middle section. Super solid! Original yellow die-cut inners are included but not usable so vinyl is housed in generic white ones for protection. A good listeners copy of a must own classic!

Too Low For Zero His seventeenth album released in May 1983. It was a comeback record for him after a string of unsuccessful albums and the first of the 80s to spawn international hits. It features the classics, “I’m Still Standing” and “I Guess That’s Why They Call It The Blues” that peaked at #12 and #4 respectively on the Billboard Hot 100. This copy is a 1st press. Vinyl is play graded VG. There are several visible surface marks but nothing deep that can be felt. Plays with mild background noise at times that is never overwhelming. No skips or jumps. Die-cut cover is in VG+ condition. Minor shelf wear on corners and seams but no splits. Title is fully legible. There are stains along the perimeter on both sides. Original cardboard inner with info and lyrics is also in VG+ condition. It is used along with a clear poly inner for protection. A very good listeners copy of a great album!
