The Beach Boys Pet Sounds 1980 Mono Reisue VG/VG-/VG+.

For auction is a very good listeners copy of Pet Sounds by the Beach Boys. Their eleventh studio album released in May 1966. Upon its release, the album was praised in the UK and reached #2 there. Despite this, it had a mediocre response in the US where it peaked at #10 on the Billboard 200. In the UK, the record was advertised as “the most progressive pop album ever” and over time, the rest of the world would share that sentiment. Pet Sounds is now considered one of the greatest and most influential albums in music history. It has become revered for its pioneering production and sophisticated music and emotional lyrics. It features the timeless classics, “Wouldn’t It Be Nice”, “Sloop John B” and “God Only Knows”. Most critics agree that Pet Sounds is one of the best albums ever. In 2020 Rolling Stone ranked it #2 on its list of “500 Greatest Albums of All Time.” This copy is a 1980 mono reissue with green Capitol Record labels.

Vinyl is play graded VG/VG-. Some light visible surface marks but nothing deep that can be felt. Side 1 plays with mild background noise at times that is never overwhelming, VG. Side 2 plays the same but the background noise is a little more apparent, VG-. Neither side has any skips or jumps. Please see pics.

Cover is in VG+ condition. There is minor shelf wear on corners and seams but no splits. Title is legible. Super solid, looks good and protects vinyl. Please see pics.
