Beatles white-label promo EP including Ask Me Why, Misery, and 2 other songs
VeeJay Records VJ EP 1-903--This is an original product, not a later reproduction!
VERY RARE !!!
Matrix numbers match Second Pressing, Type 1
"Ask Me Why" on Side II is in Boldface type. This is NOT the case with all copies of this promo. It was apparently done to emphasize the fact that Ask Me Why was the song expected to bring the most success of the four.
EP contains four songs--Misery, Taste of Honey, Ask Me Why, and Anna
An even rarer single exists, with only Ask Me Why and Anna as the flip side. THIS EP that we are selling here was an attempt by VeeJay to try the extended-play strategy in the American market after some EPs had enjoyed success overseas. It did not meet with the success they had hoped.
There is some DJ writing on the label, which is not uncommon for these EP's and promos meant for use by DJ's in their studios. THIS EP has been extremely well cared-for.
An incredibly rare picture sleeve exists for the Ask Me Why/Anna promo single, and it is one of the very rarest Beatles collectibles. THIS PROMO is in a white sleeve, much like the ones in which it was delivered to DJs. It has been kept in a plastic polybag.
