Al Ierardi 45 rpm Record: You're Not the Girl, That Damn Ol' Hillbilly Tune Rofran 39550
This record is from the estate of Al Ierardi, who purchased the recording studio from Rofran Enterprises and operated it under the name "Tape Factory" in the early 70's. Al made only two records as a solo artist, Drifter was the first and the second was You're Not the Girl, both written by Al. This copy is new, unplayed, left over from the first pressing. It is not in the original sleeve and has been stored in a plain white paper sleeve inside a plastic sleeve. I am calling this excellent, because although it is new and unplayed it has been in storage for over 50 years. Recorded at Rofran Studios in Urbana, Illinois, pressed at Century Records. You're Not the Girl written by Al and produced by his good friend James Cuomo. That Damn Ol' Hillbilly Tune is a country pastiche arranged and produced by Al which was recorded just for fun and because they had studio time left over. It was enormously popular locally and won an award from a local radio station for being requested so often. The pastiche contains a snipped from the classic Ghost Riders in the Sky, which Al joked that Gary Richrath had learned from him. Fun record. I don't know the release date but it was after Drifter.
