You are bidding on a 1971 Vinyl Release of the Allman Brothers Band groundbreaking live jam band classic from 1971; “At Fillmore East.” (Capricorn SD 2-802). This double album is groundbreaking, featuring the blazing guitar of Duane Allman, Dickey Betts, and others. This version contains the gatefold cover, and the rare pink Polydor label. (See Photos). The album, as you probably know, is perfect from beginning to end, including such Allman Brothers live classics as “Whipping Post,” “Statesboro Blues,” “Stormy Monday,” “You Don’t Love Me,” and of course “In Memory Of Elizabeth Reed.”

We purchased this item decades ago, played it (and enjoyed it!), and it has been sitting in our home (vertically) for the last few decades.

The LP is in very good condition. It was definitely played back in the day, and there are some visible markings. The LP cover has all kinds of issues.  There is significant wear on the edges and corners, there are red initials written on the top right of the rear cover, and on the bottom left corner of the rear cover, there is an area where the cover has peeled off.  The label indicates in small print "Manufactured under license issued by Atlantic Record Company to Record Club Of America." (These issues are shown in the photos).  Please review before deciding whether to bid (and if so, how much).

Please remember that this album was well taken care of, but it was played as part of our record collection decades ago. We have tried to show the condition in the photos included with the listing.

This item has been stored at room temperature, in a smoke free home.  Please see photos of actual item being sold.

Allman Brothers Band:  “At Fillmore East”

“In my opinion this is the greatest live rock album ever recorded. It includes best example of tandem lead guitars sharing time on a single stage. For the first time listener, pay close attention to “In Memory of Elizabeth Reed”. It highlights the exchange of guitar skills of both Duane Allman and Dickey Betts. As this song plays, you can hear the styles of both guitarists as they exchange the lead during the song. As you listen to it, you can hear two of the best Rock guitarists ever to be recorded at their prime”.

“Bar none -- one of the greatest live recorded rock albums of all time. Maybe one of the greatest albums of all time. I wore out my first vinyl copy and had to buy another and that one is pretty worn, too. It's remained on my "Stranded on a Desert Island" list since it's release in the early 70s. Oh, and yes - I was at the Fillmore East when it all went down -- they blew the roof off. Red Dog gave me a pass to get in”.
