GROGEY'S PATCH PRESENTS: Jimi Hendrix Band of Gypsies RARE 1970 1st AU Pressing 12" Vinyl LP #2406 002
Band of Gypsys is a live album by Jimi Hendrix and the first without his original group, the Jimi Hendrix Experience. It was recorded on January 1, 1970, at the Fillmore East in New York City with Billy Cox on bass and Buddy Miles on drums, frequently referred to as the Band of Gypsys. The album mixes funk and rhythm and blues elements with hard rock and jamming, an approach which later became the basis of funk rock. It contains previously unreleased songs and was the last full-length Hendrix album released before his death.

This vinyl record is in good to very good + condition. *Vinyl shows wear with quite a lot of superficial scratch/scuff marks that do not affect play for 99% of the album when tested - as far as my untrained ears can tell; no skips or jumps - however on side Two at the VERY end of track one the needle sticks causing repeats. Thankfully that is the only playback issue and the sound is excellent and quite a departure from his previous music. This particular record was played through on both sides from start to finish at least twice (May as well enjoy the music while testing LOL); cardboard sleeve shows very little shelf wear & has no ringwear, which is quite RARE for the back side of the cover on this album. Photographs are of the actual listed album. I provide scanned image of at least one side of the vinyl - you can then enlarge that image to see the true condition of the record for yourself. The condition of recycled vintage vinyl records is often subjective to individuals. I am not an experienced grader, I just love listening to vinyl - I will generally  list an condition range (I do grade slightly less than, to err on the side of caution) and provide plenty of quality photos because as they say "a picture paints a thousand words".  I will also note if there are any specific playback issues. Please check these photos carefully as they form part of this description and can describe vintage vinyl far better than any blurb I might write, allowing you to make your own determination. Please don't hesitate to contact me should you want more photos or information.
