In Soviet Russia, like in most of the pre-internet world, children's entertainment mainly came in three formats; state-sponsored live performances, the screen (TV, cinema), or the phonograph. To keep things lively, a wide selection of vinyl records were produced in the Soviet Union, such as this set of four (4) 33 ⅓ RPM 10" fairy tale albums featuring the most popular children's characters!

The records are in very good vintage shape, and come with the original sleeves. The titles are:

1. "Сказка О Мертвой Царевне И О Семи Богатырях" А. С. Пушкин (The Tale of the Dead Princess And the Seven Heroes by A.S. Pushkin) from 1980, Мелодия – Д 33153-54 Vinyl, LP, 10", Mono, White Labels. Read by Oleg Tabakov, this story was written by Pushkin during his second trip to Boldino. Loneliness, silence and rustle of autumn winds tuned the author to a lyrical mood. A simple, dramatic and incredibly beautiful story tells about love and betrayal, about evil witchcraft and the magic of real feelings.

2. "Василиса Прекрасная" Александр Афанасьев 1968 Мелодия – 33Д 23189-90 Format: Vinyl, LP, 10", Mono, Pink Labels. Vasilisa the Beautiful (Russian: Василиса Прекрасная) or Vasilisa the Fair collected by Alexander Afanasyev in his collection "Narodnye russkie skazki". The Slavic variation on Snow White.
