In the Soviet Union, like in most of the pre-internet world, children's entertainment mainly came in three formats; state-sponsored live performances, the screen (TV, cinema), or the phonograph. To keep things lively, a wide selection of vinyl records were produced in the USSR, such as this set of four (4) 33 ⅓ RPM fairy tale albums featuring the most popular children's characters!

The records are in very good vintage shape, and come with the original sleeves. The titles are:

1) "Черная Курица" - Антоний Погорельский / "Black Hen" - Antony Pogorelsky, Мелодия – М50 45007 008, Vinyl, LP, Mono, USSR, 1983 - The boy Alyosha, a student at a boarding school in St. Petersburg in the 1780s, discovers a magical kingdom underground where little people live. He receives a magical hemp seed but loses his abilities when he misbehaves, and must correct himself to regain what he has lost.

Hoffman, Orchestra of the Bolshoi Theater of the USSR, Gennady Rozhdestvensky, Мелодия – Д 017779-80 Vinyl, LP, Mono, White labels, USSR, 1982 "The Nutcracker" is a beloved ballet that tells the enchanting story of a young girl named Clara who receives a magical nutcracker doll on Christmas Eve, leading her on a journey through a world of dreams and fantasy.

"Щелкунчик" - это любимый балет, рассказывающий о волшебных приключениях маленькой девочки по имени Клара, которая получает волшебную игрушечную куклу-щелкунчика на кануне Рождества и отправляется в путешествие в мир снов и фантазий.

4) Александр Пушкин – Сказка О Царе Салтане, Мелодия – Д 010299-300 • Alexander Pushkin - The Tale of Tsar Saltan, Melody - D 010299-300 Format: Vinyl, LP, Repress, Mono 12", 1962. The tale is dedicated to the story of the marriage of Tsar Saltan and the birth of his son, Prince Gvidon, who, due to the machinations of his aunts, ends up on a desert island, meets a sorceress there - the Swan Princess, with her help becomes a powerful ruler and reunites with his father.
