Surface marks, sound OK
a VG disc. Shallow noise will be evident when playing, especially in soft passages and during the intro, and will fade out of a song, but don't overpower the music in any other way. Groove wear will start to be noticeable, such as light scratches (deep enough to feel with a fingernail) that will affect the sound. Labels can be foggy with writing, or have tape or stickers (or their residue) attached. The same will be true for image sleeves or LP covers. However, you will not have all these problems at the same time.
