Collectors   Excellent vinyl and Front  Laminated Sleeve Near EX a `Vault Stored` quality error copy under 210gbp

Impossible to find this in anything like this condition ,  side 2 1966 error on label.

Plays nice incredible bass on this ...

Please note that this album is complete and original November 1967 Reaction Records UK 1st pressing and is priced for its vinyl EX condition and rarety....side 2 has the error date 1966 on label!

This was corrected quickly and the Mono version was deleted from the Reaction catalogue soon after.

Robert Stigwoods Reaction Records in London only released 3 albums in total the Who also were on this label, 1966 and 1967 only all later labels were Polydor.

released November 1967 in UK selling 100,000 copies going Gold here...most of these were stereo so the Reaction Monos are now very scarce and sound incredible...later label changed to Polydor in late 67...so its very very rare the Mono, and rarer still the 66 error.

Creams debut was recorded at studios during a short 3 day period in New York city. Tom Dowd produced this album which sold many more copies in the US with an amended tracklist than Creams earlier Reaction records Debut `Fresh Cream`
This was a ground-breaking album in many ways cementing the Blueprint of a power trio stripped back, many later acts would follow this template..this took Cream further away from their blues based roots and the era of Psychedelic sound...the band were becoming famous for `stretching out` the songs live.

Creams second album achieved 1,000,000 Platinium sales in the US following the Summer of Love where the band were now hugely popular in their live shows and extended performances, Eric Claptons guitar had taken on a much more confident and heavier style having witnessed Jimi Hendrix perform and shared the stage with Jimi in London during 67, Jimi had taken things to another level and pushed things forwards at great pace.  Both Eric and his close friend George Harrison were influenced and it shows here...like many of the guitar players in London at that time.
some standout tracks here `Sunshine of your Love`  `Strange Brew` written with Felix Papparaldi who would continue to contribute throughout Eric's career.  Both of these in glorious Mono are forever linked to the Summer Of Love in books and numerous films of the period... As on the debut the famous sleeve created by designer Martin Sharp who lived at the Pheasantry Chelsea during same period as Eric, photos were selected from shoots in Hyde Park and by some accounts whilst climbing Ben Nevis on LSD. Different times...

The Record

 Excellent A B1

Nr Ex vinyl A1B1 uk 1st pressing from 1967, light surface lines only under light . audio has some light static and a few clicks , its  Ex with some scuffs and scrapes from sleeve removal over the years, bear in mind this is now a 55 year old vinyl record! Nice fat pre oil crisis 60s mono vinyl wow !

Plays  Ex with bright crisp and clear sound may benefit from a professional clean (we don't do this as it's an individual thing) some light background static and clicks are noticeable in the quieter passages but nothing to disrupt playing no sticks or jumps on our Rega 3.

The labels are free of writing doodles or names , labels retain great bold colours with no fade we can notice under light.

"Ex " vinyl a keeper nice audio.

The sleeve

 Near Excellent

Despite having done it's job over the years, the sleeve has some   little ring wear (see photos) its a little worn from handling like some of these have after over 55 years storage .

fully llaminated front this sleeve has Mono sticker on rear ,some light creasing normal but in decent shape . a keeper for sure. spine shows some wear see photo but at 55 its looking near ex.

the sleeve is a 55 years old and has seen some use, really nice corners, spine fully readable.clean.

Its fair to say that these first 1967 copies are getting collectable ....still has its original inner supplied in a quality new pvc lined sleeve.

Plays through with great punchy Mono sound on the Rega 3
