Goo Goo Dolls Pickpockets Petty Thieves And Tiny Victories

This box set compiles the first five studio albums from the Goo Goo Dolls.

Goo Goo Dolls First released on Metal Blade Records in 1987, this hadn’t been available on vinyl since it was first released.  The album rocked and had two crowd-pleaser covers, Cream’s “Sunshine Of Your Love”and Blue Oyster Cult’s “Don’t Fear The Reaper.”

Jed  (1989)A transition record with Johnny Rzenik singing lead on a couple of tracks.  A couple of more great covers, Creedence Clearwater Revival’s “Down On The Corner” and the Stones’ “Gimme Shelter.”

Hold Me Up (1990) This was the album that spawned the “Replacements-lite” moniker that followed the band for a few years.  It’s a fine 90’s rock album, and, true to form, another cover – this time Prince’s “Never Take The Place Of Your Man.”

Superstar Car Wash (1993) Still growing, and far from what they would evolve into, the album is lush with rock sensibilities –great riffs, great hooks, and punk energy.

A Boy Named Goo (1995)  This is the album that got the boys across to a much larger audience.  More accessible right from the opening track, “Long Way Down.” But it was “Name” with its acoustic perfection and time changes that blew the doors open to their future as radio mainstays.

This is the 2017 Record Store Day release from2017.  It was limited to 1,000.  It is a sealed promotional copy (note marker strike through bar code, pictured).
