Duke Ellington & John Coltrane
Recorded on September 26, 1962 and released in January of 1963 on Impulse Records, this album was one of the many Ellington collaborations of the time without a big band. This one, with the great John Coltrane, also featured Elvin Jones, Aaron Bell, Jimmy Garrison and Sam Woodward.
I believe this is the non-gatefold reissue on MCA Records from 1980. It has MCA IMPULSE 29032 embossed in gold in the upper right-hand corner and “MCA RECORDS A-30” in the round circle that displayed Impulse on the original pressing. This is a brand new, SEALED overstock copy (note lower-right cut corner). Priced to sell.
