Another ridiculous marketing job by RCA. This album was cobbled together from recordings made in the Jungle Room of Graceland. It has a somber, intimate feel to it. Do you think an album that might've captured Elvis' mood; his recording this in his own house??? Nope, RCA chose a silly concert photo. For years i didn't buy it because i just assumed it was another live album and they had put out too many from '69 to '77. It was only later that i bought it and realized what a great album it is. It is sad - the reason they recorded this at Graceland is because Elvis refused to go to a studio to record - and it is depressing but man the emotion in Hurt, Danny Boy, Bitter They Are, Harder They Fall, Never Again... As bored as Elvis was with the recording process by then, he could still bring it when the light went on. This is a German import, barely played because by 1985 i was making mixed tapes, not playing albums through.
