Manischewitz present THE JEWISH COWBOY HAROLD STERN CENTERVILLE, TX 33 1/3 LP.

Here is a recording you don’t see every day. Very few survivors.

It has been visually inspected only, and never played by me.

You can see some smudges, dust debris, nothing that in my opinion, couldn’t be cleaned up with a proper cloth or machine. Please note, this is a 33 1/3 playing speed, but it is on a 45 SIZE record, another words, 7 inches in diameter.

My understanding is, that Stern regales us with almost 9 minutes of chatter about being a Jewish cowboy and the joys of Manischewitz. This 1966 record is fascinating for many reasons, not the least of which is that it was put out by a big legitimate company yet it’s just a demo, (a very collectible demo) not an officially recorded record. But back in the day, very few people who couldn’t afford to go the full record route, admitted to the fact that what they were putting out was a demo. Here they didn’t even spring for a back label!

Well, break out some Manischewitz grape wine and lie back and enjoy all the fruits of Manischewitz and The Jewish Cowboy’s labor!

It is certainly possible that this was a promo/demo record was just for the Manischewitz group. That is just speculation on my part. I am sure this record is a real rarity, and probably close to impossible to find in any condition.

Who knew that Centerville, Texas was such a hotbed of wine drinking, Jewish Cowboys back in the day!
