The Band Music From Big Pink MoFi

Music From Big Pink is the debut album from the Band who had distinguished themselves as being Bob Dylan’s back-up band.  “Big Pink” was a house that members of the Band rented and recorded in.  It not only was the birthplace of the songs on their debut, it also was home to The Basement Tapes.  And Dylan was all over Music From Big Pink, contributing one song and two co-writes to the album, as well as painting what was used as the cover.

Music From Big Pink began a long and illustrious career for the Band, and is arguably “patient zero” in the evolution of Americana – an ”important” recording that incorporates blues, country, folk,rock, classical and R&B in a way no one had ever heard before.  The album was ranked number 34 on Rolling Stone’s list of the 500 greatest albums of all time in both 2003 and 2012. 

This is the Mobile Fidelity Sound Lab remastered reissue from 2012, pressed on 180g high definition vinyl.  It is an open promotional copy (note scratched out Special Limited Edition area, pictured).  There is a slight ding in the upper right hand corner (pictured front and back).  Other than that, the cover is in VG+ condition. The disc itself is mint.  Ships media mail with additional insurance.
