This is new old stock from a Massachusetts record store that closed about 25 years ago.
Jonny Locks (1940-2022) was a native of Fall River, Massachusetts. His real name was Jon Astle. He and his older brothers, Fred and Deke (and later his nephews), were all successful stock car racers at Seekonk Speedway beginning in the 1950s. Jon was also an aspiring singer who played guitar and wrote his own songs.
In 1965, he recorded “I Know You Want Me Baby” and “All I Want Is You”, backed by Bobby and the Galaxies, a local bar band who were a popular attraction from Fall River to Providence.
The record was a self-published effort and was only distributed locally on Jon’s own Locks label. At the time, the speedway helped promote the disc by playing it on their PA system each week. It is likely that only 1000 copies were pressed.
This is in NM condition and was unsold stock. It will be shipped with the accompanying photo of Jon Astle, a latter day acquaintance of mine, at the time he cut the record. Jonny Locks died in 2022.
