2-Tone single TT#06 is the first single from The Beat (known in the US as The English Beat) as a double A-side performing a cover of Smokey Robinson & The Miracles "Tears of a Clown" on one side with their original "Rankin' Full Stop" on the other.
The Beat were one of the core bands that helped launch 2-Tone, but this is the only release from them on the 2-Tone label. When fellow 2-Tone band Madness struck a deal with Stiff Records in 1980, the Beat followed their lead and left 2-Tone to form their own label, Go-Feet Records.
This single was released in 1979. It comes in the classic Walt Jabsco paper sleeve, but this particular sleeve has some damage from a previous owner. Please see the condition description and photos for more details.
I collected all of the 2-Tone singles in the 90s, but now I have decided it's time to share them with other fans that love this music as much as I do. I am selling all of my 2-Tone singles individually, so feel free to check my other items for sale.
