This is the one of a few jazz lots I will be putting out in the next few weeks. Please check out my other lots if this is not your genre.
There is no junk in here! I have been purchasing record lots to feed my vinyl 'habit'. I've put a lot of miles on my car and a lot of time into researching and cleaning these. These include the best of my finds. If you want Goodwill prices, it ain't here! I think you will find them a good value. This is not my main source of income so I am not looking to make a killing here. (If you want to do all of this work and sell them yourself...my girlfriend would probably be thrilled. Ha!)
Each Record (except for your Thank You album):
1. Is cleaned with a vacuum powered record cleaning machine. MUCH better than a brush.
2. Tested for any possible problems
3. Placed in a new inner sleeve (unless that sleeve adds some sort of unique value or is pristine)
4. Placed in a plastic outer sleeve
5. I grade/price based off Goldmine/Discogs/Ebay pricing
There are no returns for the simple fact that I do not want people to test the records and then just send back what they may not like. (Which should not happen in these lots!). These records play, and I believe you will find they play better than my grade. (I would like you to buy other lots from me after all...)
Do not hesitate to message me regarding any questions/concerns. Check out my other lots if this is not your cup of tea! Thanks for looking.
Artist/Album Name/Label/Catalog #/Grading (Vinyl/Sleeve)/Retail price in CURRENT condition
1. John Coltrane/Convert in Japan/ABC/AS-9246/VG+ (Vinyl has some LIGHT scuffs, but sounds clean)/G (What a shame!, the bottom 1/3 of the front cover has a tear that cuts into the beautiful artwork. The sleeve is still sturdy and usable though)/$5 due to sleeve
This is not Coltrane's A love Supreme/Lush Life style. It is more experimental which is why I put it in this lot. Have some patience with this one and you will be rewarded.
2. Joe Farrell/Penny Arcade/CTI/CTI 6034/VG (some smudging that does not affect play. Plays at a higher grade)/VG+ (strong, sturdy gatefold)/$8.00
Features Herbie Hancock. Funky!
3. Bill Bruford/One of a Kind/Polydor/PD-1-6205/VG (smudges which do not affect play)/ VG+ (light ring wear and a SMALL piece of front cover off)/$5.00
Experimental jazz that only the original drummer from Yes could create!
4. Various/Percussion Profiles/ECM/ECM 19002/VG+ (LIGHT smudges...crystal clear)/VG+ (slight warping and ringwear, no seem splits and good corners)/$8.00
Very cool on a hi-fi system.
5. Tom Scott/New York Connection/Ode/SP 77033/NM (SEALED!)/NM (nicely preserved)/$10.00
Be the first to hear this one! I have not....let me know how it is.
6. Milt Jackson/Olinga/CTI/CTI 6046/VG (smudges that I tested after cleaning. Do not affect play.)/VG+ (gorgeous and sturdy gatefold with an awesome photo of the pyramids!)/$8.00
Funky!
7. Chico Hamilton/Catwalk/Mercury/SRM-1-1163/VG (by appearance only! Like the others, I can hear no snap, cracks, or pops!)/VG (great shape, but there is a corner cut)/$7.00
This is a cover only the 70s could produce. How can an album with a blank panther and hot pink background be bad?
8. Tony Williams/The Joy of Flying/Columbia/JC 35705/VG+ (closer to NM!)/VG + (wonderful copy)/$5.00
Like Chico Hamilton...an illustrated bald eagle carrying drum sticks...how can you go wrong? (I'm laughing as I type this...) Actually I though about keeping this one for myself. I like it a lot.
9. Jack DeJohnette/Cosmic Chicken/Prestige/P-10094/VG+ (gorgeous copy)/VG+(light wear on bottom edge, no splits)// $10.00
Take everything I said about number 7 and 8 artwork and combine those and you get Cosmic Chicken. I will hang this for a while if I do not sell it.
Interesting experimental album.
10. Lenny White/Venusian Summer/Nemperor/NE 435/VG+ (Clean.)/VG+ (some wear, but very solid, no splits)/$6.00
I'll stop commenting on these awesome covers. This one is pretty cool. Refer to pictures for cover. Wild stuff.
11. Nat Adderley/Hummin'/LD 1012/VG+ (I just do not give NM unless it is sealed...this looks unplayed)/VG+ (in shrink, and very clean)/$7.00
At first I thought this would be more of a throwback jazz album, but it is very funky. Do not just judge on covers alone. Don't really want to give this one up...
12. The Crusaders/Free as the Wind/ABC/BT-6029/VG (superficial scratch, very clean playing)/VG+ (still in shrink, well cared for)/$6.00
Despite the farm scene on the cover, this one is all jazz.
Bonus! Herbie Hancock/Futureshock/Columbia/FC 38814:I am giving this one away, despite it being pretty clean, because it is slightly warped. I have not run it through the record cleaning machine but some simple cleaning would probably be enough to make this a nice playing copy. I just do not want to sell things with any warping. Cool cover!
