The archetypal heavy metal band, Black Sabbath unleashed a debut album marked by ponderous, sludgy rhythms, heavily distorted riffs and chords, and more than a whiff of darkness and Black Magic. Its crushing atmosphere of doom proved intense and relentless; the cumulative effect was dubbed "downer rock," but it proved immediately popular with a disaffected audience. Though no one could have predicted it at the time, Sabbath was laying the groundwork for a genre that would continue to grow in popularity through the '70s, '80s, '90s, and beyond. BLACK SABBATH announces the arrival of both the band and the style in no uncertain terms. Though given more to extended jams and "suites" than later Sabbath recordings, songs like the ominous title cut and the bluesy, harmonica-driven rocker "The Wizard" set the standard the band would follow for years to come. Singer Ozzy Osbourne already possessed one of the most distinctive voices in rock, and his chemistry with guitarist Tony Iommi, whose crushing guitar work descends like a ton of bricks, is undeniable. Still dug out, dusted off, and played, BLACK SABBATH is, in many ways, the true beginning of heavy metal. OZZY ROCKS! It's hard to believe this classic recording was done for around $700!

WE CARE ABOUT WHAT WE SHIP!
ALWAYS wet clean all LPs before their first use to remove record sleeve dust and other particles from manufacturing. This
includes ALL new LPS and it doesn't matter who makes them, or who sells
them. If you purchased a used LP somewhere
(we only sell new)
double clean it. This is standard procedure you should be following. We recommend
Lasermedia VNC-4 Vinyl
Record Cleaner because it does the job well without harmful solvents
like alcohol or worse which can damage the plasticizers in
the vinyl making it noisy and prone to wear..
REPLACE standard paper sleeves with poly lined sleeves to keep the record from scratching when inserting the LP into it. This is
particularly important with those nice-to-look-at hard sleeves they sometimes use.
US RECORDING will, for free, unseal and remove the LP itself from the jacket to absolutely prevent seam splits in shipping
if you immediately ask us to after payment. This is guaranteed preventable damage if you simply ask us to do it. (This is the proper way to ship LPS anyway.)
If
you do not ask us to do it, we cannot guarantee there will be no seam
splits no matter how well the records are packed, and we will not
consider any record
jacket seam splits as "damage" for a return or compensation.

company artwork which depicts the item for sale, but is not an actual photo of the actual individual item you will be sent, and

record company provided artwork for the purpose used herein, which is
to depict the front cover of the record. For clarity and
artistic license, the image above may not depict plastic protective coverings around the product, or record company applied
stickers at various locations which may or may not be on the plastic jacket cover of the LP.
Some
LPS are factory shrink wrapped, and others are factory sealed in bags,
especially many of the higher end versions and most imports. European
pressings are mostly sealed in bags because that is THEIR standard of
packaging. The USA standard is to shrink wrap but it could go
either
way. If the type of "manner of seal" is a concern to you, please
contact us before purchase." - ©2014 US Recording Media, LLC
