MILES DAVIS
Kind Of Blue
4 Disc Pressing - 45 RPM Series
Record label/brand: Classic Records/Columbia CS 8163 upc/mpn: None year: 1959
This is a very collectable audiophile rarity issued by Classic Records. There are 4 180 gram vinyl, one-sided records in this set. Mastered by audio legend, Bernie Grundman, this was Classic Records' attempt to achieve the ultimate in vinyl sound quality.
The records are packaged in one sleeve with the original album artwork and then two white generic covers. Classic Records pride themselves for releasing each album with the original artwork, LP labels and any other materials which were included with original pressings.
This title was mastered by Classic Records at Half Speed from the original source master tapes. An all-analog, tube amplification process was used at every step. Classic Records used a proprietary vinyl, in either 180 gram or 200 gram weight, that guaranteed virtually no surface noise and sonically superior dynamics.
In short, this is as good as this album is ever going to sound on vinyl. Don't wait... this four record set is long out of print and growing harder to find

Review: Apart from a minority who prefer the mono mix, the 45 RPM 4 LP single-sided pressing of Kind of Blue is almost universally heralded as the ultimate way to hear this album. Having listened to virtually every domestic incarnation of this classic album, I can attest to its superiority as well.
Possessing outstanding dynamics and soundstaging, accurate tonality, and incredible low level detail, the 45 RPM Kind of Blue simply outperforms all others. Long out of print, sealed copies regularly sell in the hundreds--if you can even find one. Whether you missed out on the first 45 RPM pressing, you want a backup copy for your collection, or you are new to vinyl and want to be as close as you can possibly be to the musicians on those fabled 1959 sessions, this is the one for you! ~
EX (a high grade from us, record may show signs of use, but is in overall great shape and should play free from defect),
VG+ (a high grade from us, record may show signs of use, but is in overall great shape and should play free from defect),
VG (record may have some minor surface marks, but nothing that should detract from the listenability),
VG- (may have a number of surface marks and may play with some noise, but still listenable and a decent play copy)
G (we rarely list anything with this grade unless it is highly rare and valued, may have many surface marks, but still playable)
