Carmen McRae. After Glow. Decca Records(DL 8583). Mono Original Deep Groove Pressing 1957.
If you haven't heard "I Can't Escape From You", then you've never heard Carmen at her best. This is, perhaps, the finest song she ever sang, akin to Sarah Vaughan's "Ain't No Use" in emotional weight and force. The rest of the album moves from ballad to swing without once losing the mood and feel of the album. It's one of those rare albums you can listen to from beginning to end without ever being tempted to skip a song.
Condition Cover 7+ or EX a little chipping, edge wear, hard cardboard sleeve, textured nibbed cover/Record 8 or NM- black and shiny, heavy vinyl, machine pressed run-off dead-wax numbers, original perforated plastic inner bag sleeve, flat edge vinyl record, deep groove label, matte silver-black labels, just a few minor sleeve rubs.
