This auction is for an extremely rare and 100% authentic and genuine Version 2 pressing of the Beatles US LP 'Introducing the Beatles' on the VeeJay. Not only that, but this is the very rare American Record Pressing Co. variation that uses the 45-sized labels of the disc!!

The story behind Introducing the Beatles is very interesting and is worth a read. It can be found on it's .

The American Record Company, Michigan, were one of the main manufacturers of Introducing the Beatles and, during initial production of this album, they ran out of LP sized labels. Not wanting any reason to slow up on production the decision was made to run a small number of copies off using smaller labels that were intended for single releases. This was only done for a short time before the LP sized labels were reintroduced and, today, copies with the smaller labels are very difficult to find!

Introducing the Beatles is one of the most counterfeited LPs in music history but this is a 100% authentic, genuine pressing.

This copy has the right colour hue, it has George's shadow, it has the 1/4" internal overflaps at the top and bottom of the mouth (on fakes this overflap is much longer) and the back passes the 'Honey' test (fakes have a chunk of the H in Honey missing). The deadwax on this particular pressing is just a touch past 1" due to the smaller labels being used, but even then the deadwax on fake presses is much bigger. The deadwax also features the 'Audiomatrix' and ARP machine stamps which, again, are never found on a counterfeit pressing and the credit 'The Beatles' is above the spindlehole. On every fake this credit is below the spindlehole!

The deadwax carries the scroll ARP stamp, indicating that this copy was manufactured at American Record Company, Michigan, and it's Spizer / Cox unique identification number is VJ 1062 (2).MR3

Incredibly hard to find!

The cover is showing its age somewhat, but isn't completely gone. The front has a nice, rich colour to it and some wear and rubbing over the group and along the bottom. There's some light ring wear and the name Hetke written in big, black marker pen on the left. Top seam has soem light wear and some paper tears in the slick, but the card itself has not split. the bottom seam ,however, has split all the way fromthe mouth to the spine. Back cover has yellowed a little with some wear and light browning. Twist and Shout has been underlined and Sue Bell has written her name big big, black marker pen (Thanks, Sue!).   Disc (Visually Graded Only!!) : VG-

The playing surface has a nice shine and has some light scuffing and marks. On side 1, at 11 o'clock there's a mark in track 2 that's feelable under the fingernail. In track 4 of side 2 there's a circular mark going with the groove where it looks like someone may have pressed down on the middle during a revolution causing this light circular mark. The rest of the disc has some light scuffing along with a few slightly heavier scuffs.

The labels are looking pretty good. The silver text is looking slightly faded but is all still fully legible. There's some light spindlewear and a touch of wear around the centrehole. On both labels, as you can see, the name Bell has been written at the top.
